Got my reader, PRS-505 about 2 months ago, but just found these forums, will be frequently visiting now.

I strongly suggest the protection on the Sony Reader, but ONLY if it covers Accidental Handling. The thing is built pretty well, and shouldn't have any problems within the manufacturer warranty, but the screen is some what delicate and I can just imagine sitting on it or something.

The extended service from the Sony Style store in my area is wonderful.
