Exactly.
I read at smallish font sizes so ragged right isn't particularly noticeable whereas hyphenation is noticeable. For me, at least, it breaks immersion.

It is all about what you are used to and what you are comfortable with.

Adding hyphenation as an option is good--forcing hyphenation isn't.
