I know the op is looking at Android devices, but I just want to add the HP Stream 7 to the mix. It is available from the Microsoft Store for $79. I am surprised at how much I like it. It is very comfortable to read on. I mainly use the Nook app which will import DRM free epubs. The Kindle app is very limited in text options but works well. I have not had any luck getting Google Play books to load, but Calibre is very helpful. Overall, well worth the price.
