The issue is that it doesn't do what I want. What this does is fix the width but the height is variable and you have to scroll up/down to see all the text. This isn't horrible but it also seems to disable swipe horiziontally to change pages. In auto mode, horizontal swipe works to change pages. Maybe there is some reason for this but it wasn't obvious to me and
I'm not really interested in reading pages of docs to figure out basic usage.
The zoom to content mode in koreader is exactly what I'm looking for, it's like the automatic mode in EBookDroid except thatEBookDroid keeps changing the background size which is really annoying. koreader keeps a constant background size.
Anyways, koreader seems exactly what I need, minus a few bugs.

It's not in Google Play. You have to manually download the apk from github.
