@PeterT - thanks - the perception of my neighbour and his grand daughter, is that the problems he experienced with his IPad & calibre started when the developer of the PI changed.

Will the built-in driver allow him to send the books, I'm not sure he's interested in much integration, he just wants to read his news/magazines and books in Russian. He doesn't keep things on his IPad once he's read it - I imagine it would be the same with a Kobo.

His grand daughter is an IT project manager in retail supply chain/logistics, Apple IOS dominates the 'portable terminal' end of that sector. She's also read the Kobo related forum and threads at MR and elsewhere - my impression is that she's underwhelmed

I've suggested they get a Kindle, they seem to have fewer hassles.
