Walmart has been pretty good at pushing nook hardware for years. I bought my first nook e-ink device there. They have the web presence to handle the bookstore if they wanted to. They have done an awesome job with video via Vudu.
Google appeared to be all in with books with scanning so many titles from various libraries, but their reading software is unimpressive. No way to put ebooks in collections or manage ebooks in any way. No way to search for uploaded ebooks--and they are a search giant. Just sad.
