Me, I think Amazon is well-known for constantly-changing algorithmic pricing, as they work to maximize sales.
And I don't believe Amazon sets the list price... they set their own sales price.

Oh, do you have some sort of evidence to indicate that any particular group of reviews are false? I am sure Amazon would love to hear about it -- they don't like fake reviews either.
