I'm not going to have much trouble with the novels, but my daily short stories are going to be a little trickier. I don't have many collections by women, and I'm not completely sure I'll like the ones I do have. I might have to try to line up some anthologies - I don't want to read them out of order, but I can try to leave myself at the start of a run of stories by women.

Try KT Tomb, and yes KT is female. Her books IMHO are very well written and quite exciting reads. She has several series going at the moment:
Chyna Stone The owner of an archeological company called Found History who takes jobs finding archeological artifacts and placing them in museums.
Phoenix Quest: Phoe is store owner who takes jobs finding archeological treasures
Cash Cassidy: She is a book author and housewife who goes out on her own looking for archeological treasures.
Alpha Adventures: A group of adventures who take jobs finding archeological treasures.
