These are 'pre-season' lychees. I have to go up into the mountains to get them from the hill tribes. They have a slightly sour taste to them compared with the in-season type... those being MUCH sweeter. Add to the mix that mangosteens are just coming in and Longon berries will be within the next few weeks gives me enough variety so that I don't get tired of any one of them. Rambutan have been in for the past few weeks and are as cheap as dirt, but I don't particularly care for them. Plus Durian are always around. Thailand really IS Fruit Heaven.
