From spending time on this forum, I know that there is variance in the screens, and that I simply got lucky with the H2O (and slightly less lucky with the Glo HD). I'm not going to try to replace it, as its a hassle from where I'm located and also, frankly, there's nothing fundamentally wrong with it. I'll try to get my eyes used to this screen, but if that doesn't work, it's back to the H2O permanently.

My Glos show the bottom darker cone shapes from the LEDs, but really only slightly, it's more like very slightly darker smudges along the bottom, and it's not even anything that distracts me or the slightest annoyance at all.
I always have to consider that it still is more even lightning than reading a physical book with overhead lights.
If had very noticeable dark cone shapes there, then I might be tempted to return a reader, but so far the darker areas have really been minimal and I really have to look for them.
And on my Glo HD, they're not noticeable at all, it's a very nice even screen.
