Thought of getting the H2O if the problem is uncommon but looks like both Kindle & Kobo have many users with this issue. Just do a search on the forum, google or amazon and there is huge list of users complaining. Some mentioned that they have to exchange 5 times till they got a perfect one so this defective spot is very common for eink. Returning a device is a hassle as I don't live in the US/CA but I might just try my luck.

I have an H2O that I bought from Chapters. There is not a single spot of any kind on the light layer. Also, it's not common as all you get are people posting who have such an issue. There are MANY more people with Kobos and Kindles who do not post when they have a Reader that has no such defect. You don't get people coming online just to post that they don't have a problem. So take those that do post as a very small subset of owners of Readers with a front light and it's very uncommon given how many Readers are sold.
Why is it you go looking for problems where they don't exist? You keep posting about that video saying pin holes are common on Kobo because of that video and that pin hole is a problem with the camera.
