Yes I am aware of that route but as I said, the plugin is more convenient for the circumstances I pointed out - mouse click count for your method above = 5 plus further navigation distances in between clicks.
Versus: Mouse clicks with the Open With plugin =2 with almost zero navigation distance (just that in the drop down).

For myself I did read the thread and understood every bit of it. That understanding together with that of the Open With PI led me to point out that the PI is much easier to use for the circumstances I set out.
I would have hoped that would be seen as a comment rather than a negative reaction as I, unlike someone else did with regard to the PI
, did not claim that there was no longer a need for the built in option.
Now, if using the built in option I can get to the opened application with 2 clicks and trivial navigation between then I am all ears and would welcome that ability to be able to do so.
