I've purchased several EPUB3 books from Google Play already. They're rarely, however, anything other than EPUB2 with a nav and an EPUB3 opf. It takes very little time to open them in calibre's editor, remove/convert the epub3-specific opf stuff, chuck the nav (or change it to a regular html toc) and save it.
De-EPUB3 plugin, anyone?
