So I'm curious about the experience of Americans with the relatively new television series Sherlock. I realize that "relatively new" is a relative term (there series has apparently been on since 2010), but I only recently purchased a television after many years without and just a few days ago I tried to watch the first episodes from DVD.

The problem, and this is probably qualifies as a rant against me and my hearing, but I cannot enjoy it for not being able to follow much of the dialogue. Benedict Cumberbatch [Sherlock Holmes] in particular often might as well be speaking Greek. So have any other Americans been watching this and had anything like this problem?
