The big benefit of an ereader is the space. Carrying 2 or more paperbacks is a pain and I always need at least 2 because I will be finishing the one I am reading soon. Storing 1000 or more books is also a pain. Since I am an avid reader who likes SF/Fantasy novels and has particular taste I can't just read a book once, I reread my library constantly.

Over the last 6 years I have converted a lot of my paper books into ebooks, I am now down to only three 85" bookshelves of books with the books only in two layers (front/back). A good portion of that is signed hardcovers and the rest are mostly out of print deceased authors.
