After 10061 killed the whole system I took the machine apart, disconnected all the drives, save one and did a fresh install of 7 with the intent of doing the upgrade to 10074 using Windows Update.

After 150ish updates and force for Svc Pack 1 I let the upgrade run overnight. In the AM the power button is inop so I shut the machine down. When I restarted it later....It reverted back to 7.

50-60 updates later I try again and it re downloads 10074 and I let it run overnight and ..... Same thing. Nothing works and it reboots back to 7.

On and off a few times letting it check for more updates and we are down to 1. Yep. Lets download 10074 again.. NOPE


This makes 4 different builds in a row that barely run or wont run at all. I'm thinking its on my end but I couldn't tell you where.
Boy oh Boy I'm glad I did not try Windows 10 before 10074. I have to say it was a bumpy ride the upgrade but I have it and it is working!

The only BIG negative I ran into and it is MY fault as I should have checked into it before making the jump but Windows 10 WILL NOT SUPPORT Windows Media Center!



I have an HDHomerun Prime and lost that ability after the upgrade!
