Bookpossum, I'm so sorry to hear that about your beloved Emma, and fantasyfan I'm sorry to hear about your pet too. Losing a pet can be very hard. I lost a dog only last month - not the one in my GR avatar but the one I jokingly call that dog's "sister from another mister", Boo. I'd known Boo off and on her entire life and though she technically wasn't mine, she came to live with me for the last many years of her life and she was a great dog. She died very suddenly and unexpectedly; she breathed her last as I was rushing her to the overnight emergency vet. They think it was cardiac arrest or stroke. I hated to see her suffer like that. She was old but I'd thought she might have many years more left in her.
