I think if the light was not blotchy at the bottom before but is now then something is occluding the LED lenses and it might be possible to pop off the cover and clean the screen edge and the lenses.
That said, the slightly larger screen on the H2O is nice, and a reader you can use while soaking in the tub rocks.
