I have not read printed books for years (except one or two, and I really struggled with them). Perhaps that's the problem.
I've gotten too used with Kindle text where there's no hyphenation.
Or perhaps it's because the Kindle screen is small compared to printed books, so many things that don't bother me in paper books really bother me on kindle...
