The DXs and the H20 have been my goto readers. The Paperwhites have blotches (even the 2nd gen). The Voyage COULD have been the best but the yellow at top, bluish at bottom coloring ruined it for me. I use it with the light off and external lamp. I like the high rez screen just not the bizzare uneven color. Yes I am fussy.
So how does the Glo HD stack up? AMAZING! My unit has perfectly even coloring and lighting. No blotches! Crisp text. Much clearer than my H20. The page turn speeds are fine. I can not find anything to complain about!
I am thrilled. I have finally obtained a great, front lit eink reader without obvious flaws.
Ordered a Glo cover from Amazon since these appear to fit the HD version.
If you get a good screen, this is the reader to have!

Given the problems I've had just buying
books from Kobo, I can't even believe I'm asking about this reader. But logic aside, how black is the text on the Glo HD? That's one thing about my Paperwhite (Gen 1) that has always disappointed me. The text is gray, not black. How is the text on the Glo HD? Is it actually black? And is the background fairly light?
I'm secretly hoping it's crap so I can stop being tempted to buy one.
