I dot believe that you can still buy 'Official' parts and install them yourself.
What they have done is circumvented the law that previously allowed 'knock-off' replacements. (Not an
exact copy)
What is now being blocked is the extended Diagnostic tools. (California Emissions law REQUIRES that the diagnostic port interface correctly with emissions testing equipment. So basic info is still available)
