@chaley: I re-read your response -- changing
only the Title Sort, not the actual title, as I haven't set up any Save templates, and it fixes the problem. I don't know why I hadn't tried messing with that, given everything else I tried. Now it's just ignoring the red/pink in the metadata panel.
