I've finally got around to checking; I changed "Sharpe Extra" to "Sharpe:Extra" and "Sharpe?Extra" (before and after "<") and this is what I get on the Authors page:

My latest theory is that "part0002.html#sharpeextra_series" is the key which is used for the sort, and "part0002.html#sharpe_series" therefore follows the other two...
