Thanks for the tip. I tried it...deleted the main_thumbnail.jpg from the cache folder, restarted the T1.....except it didn't generate a new thumbnail image from the new cover of the epub - on the screen it shows a generic picture of a book in place of the thumbnail.

I worked around by creating my own thumbnail and putting it in the thumbnail folder, renaming it to main_thumbnail.jpg.

It seems that the T1 won't automatically generate a new thumbnail for an edited cover unless you delete the books.db file, forcing it to rebuild everything and losing your collections in the process.

So I conclude I've got to do it manually which is just one extra step.
