Also how long the nib lasts, is it a big ongoing cost? I live in Australia and shipping of these nibs or even a service will cost me lot in shipping. Is this devices is rugged in nature for daily use indoors and outdoors. Can I trust it to go for a long time without any need of repair?

I wouldn't expect any modern piece of hardware to last 10 years without repairs, so no, not the Sony, either.

Technically, it's just an e-reader with a larger screen. The hardware consist of the usual components, SoC, WiFi, batttery, USB port. It may be unique, but it's not some exotic prototype. Besides, it seems to be a superb build quality. So I'd expect about the same life-span as any other e-reader, perhaps even a bit better, given that it has an uncrackable glass screen and is well manufactured. As usual, the components which are most likely to wear out first are the battery, ports, and buttons.

The nibs really shouldn't be a a problem. The supplied ones should, if you hardly write on it, easily last 10 years. I'Ve used Wacoms for years and those nibs last forever.

The device is very thin, but I wouldn't necessarily call it fragile. However, for the purpose of putting it into my bag to carry it around I've bought a thicker sleeve (any 13.3" sleeve should do just fine). Rugged, it is certainly not and should be used with great care outside. The case appears to be some plastic, rubber, alumiunium blend, not sure what kind of material they used - but it's not scratch nor shock proof.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
