If you have set (override the default) the tweak for Sorts to the type you want.
Select books: Tap 'E' (bulk mode) Metadata edit: Tick the box 'Automatically set the Author Sort': OK (BTW there is also a tick for Title sort if you changed the default tweak for that. Both can be used at the same time)
That will use the current rules
