I think the videos show the light goes as low as could be practically useful. The Kindle might go lower, but you couldn't read at that brightness. I'm not worried about this aspect. The slider thing is a nice touch.
The IR touch-screen looks less sensitive than the Voyage's. It's to be expected with IR. It looks about on par with the Sony touch-screens.
