It is cases like yours that make me stop and consider the possibility that there was a manufacturing fault in the screen. The tendency is for everyone on here to shout at the poster that it was their fault, that they sat on it, that they have a ferocious e-ink eating cat, etc.
On another point, I had a Sony 650 that died at 14 months because the power-switch failed. It would have cost $150 to repair. I decided it wasn't worth buying new at high-price for quality, because it just don't exist in e-readers. Saying that, I've crumbled and ordered a Glo HD. Touch wood
