Well, goodread is a nadir among reviewers, and they are re-quoted everywhere because they seem to be the first to get their hands on new devices, and they don't need to think or use the device before posting so they get their reviews online immediately. And most Americans are kindle users, which is a reflection of the market.

The Italian reviewer is a kobo user, apparently mostly for pocket, plus he used the glo hd for 10 days before posting AND is savvy with a camera: his photos of the device are outstanding. I do understand Italian, and his review is very good, but it is the first Italian review I see on a reader that isn't just a reprise of goodread.

For years, whenever I was looking to buy a computer or an ereader, I've looked at German reviews: they are very professional about it.

For ereaders specifically, European readers are less biased for Kindle than Americans - again a reflection of the market.
