I'm very particular about fonts as well, and Kindles don't have many choices. Fortunately, there is one font (and only one) that works well for me, so it doesn't matter to me that I don't like the rest of the fonts. If I hadn't liked any of the fonts, I would have taken advantage of the easy return policy and sent the Kindle back.

I tolerate the limited font selection, it's the limited sizes that get me. Basically, every time I start a book I get exasperated as I have to choose between reading
this size which is ever so slightly too small to read for long stretches or go up the next size which is
this big. A little more gradation please...
