Koreader has several search functions, both for within its File Manager and within the readers. I guess you are asking about within the readers.
I tried the "Fulltext search" option first; entering "the", to be sure and get over 100 results, and all the instances of "the", on the page, were highlighted and a navigation message window with direction arrows popped up. Of course there were "the" results on every page. Next, I'll try "discovery" and the first results were on the page I was on (306) the next arrow brought me to page 328. The book is about technical developments so "discovery" is used often. With the "the" search results pressing the go to last arrow brings me to the last page of the book with the "the" highlighted where it occurred on the page. The same with the go to first occurrence arrow, it went to the title page and highlighted all the "the" there.
Is this the kind of search you were looking for?
Luck;
Ken
