I cringe that I'm about to "defend" something in the review
, but in fairness, they did play with the "darkness" setting for pdf's on the Kindle which is likely why it looks muddy (they cranked up the darkness). They changed it near the start of talking about pdf's so it was likely that way through most of the pdf part of the review. Once again they managed to induce a reviewer created issue rather than a real problem with the device.
