From your Windows 8 device, visit the Windows Store.
Select the Install button to download, and then install the Kindle app.
That's exactly what I would expect to find if you googled "Kindle for Windows 8", as that is the app version for the RT/modern interface, which is completely different from "Kindle for PC" which will install on any version of Windows EXCEPT WindowsRT.
