There are some of us though who absolutely hate the flush screen and the capacitive touch that goes with it. They've simply given us the choices we want. There's capacitive flat screens for the messy people, and infrared recessed for the not messy people .

Ok ok, so messy or not has nothing to do with it, but for various reasons many of us actually do not like the flat screen or the capacitive touch. I've read many posts where Aura owners have said the text is not as sharp as on the Glo, that the capacitive layer probably causes it, plus the odd crosshatch scratches visible on many of the capacitive screens. When the Aura came out and I thought that's the direction that Kobo is going toward now, I bought 2 more Glos so I wouldn't have to worry about nothing but capacitive touch being available. There's just no way I'd buy a capacitive touch ereader for myself.

Choices that make everyone happy is always the best alternative, and I'm hoping that is why Kobo upgraded the Glo and kept its infrared touch and it's not just a price consideration.
