Still a pretty good deal, those books are so long that's a
lot of reading for the money.
I would definitely recommend reading the
Commonwealth Saga books first. It's not absolutely required, but you'll have more invested in some of the characters if you have.
Hamilton's one of my favorite authors, and I ended up with an autographed copy of the first volume of his
Void Trilogy totally by accident. I bought it used, got it for about $4, which is great for a hardback. I later discovered it had been autographed.
