Aspect Ratio: to preserve or not to preserve, that is the question

hi all.

I read books, manga and comics. At the moment they're all on a kindle paperwhite. But i have had an iPad before (it was stolen) and hope to get one again in the future someday. When I'm reading comics/manga on my kindle, I like to have everything fully fit the screen. It just looks better to me than having margins, but i'm quickly realizing that when i go to use a different device i'm going to have this problem all over again.
With video the rules are simple, keep the original aspect ratio (of which there are only a few that are really common) and the device can zoom/stretch if you want it to. But with manga/comics that's not the case you have to just pick one and stick with it. which would be fine if there was a few super common ones, but they come in tons of different aspect ratios it seems.

So what do you guys think? Just convert everything to fit my kindle the way i like, or keep everything the way it already is when i get it and just live with it not fitting nicely (which also means more zooming to read stuff)
