Because then it would just be another Aura. Personally, I don't want a flat glass fingerprint collector obscuring my screen. That's why I haven't bought an Aura. Fortunately, it looks like Kobo realizes this and is making devices to keep both of us happy. It's all win, as far as I can see.

Agree with BryanK. For myself, I dislike the perfectly flat Aura and the extra bit of glare you get off it. I've also read that some people have a problem holding it and accidentally slipping over that "line" that flips a page unintentionally without having a bezel to hold which has a definite separation from the touch screen. Choices are always good for everyone.

With my Glo always in a closed cover when not reading, I've never had a problem with dust nor food crumbs even eating while reading getting under the bezel. So I'll be perfectly happy with it even without the H2O seal.
