Checking in:
I haven't read a book in a long time. This may be the longest I can remember. I haven't bought anything either. So much moving and startup costs. We stayed at my brother's house and I use the term house lightly. It was more like a gutted house with a piece together room with no heat or a/c and barely put together bathroom with a tub so tall I couldn't get into it without my hubby helping me. I'm 5'5 and I have to say his tub is about 3 and half feet tall.
It was hell on earth. Who knew how filthy that place was as Stephanie Plum once said I took a shower until I was boiled red like a lobster once we left. I trashed anything that couldn't be washed so pet beds had to go.
We finally found an apartment and started moving in 2 days ago. So far I got my bed, laptop and internet.
The rest will have to wait as hubby is working a factory job during the week. We have A/C! No central air but the A/C seems to work well in this 1 bedroom apartment. It's 82F out and about 72F in here. It has washer and dryer hookups so now I have to save up for pair as we sold ours when we moved to Raleigh. The cats love it as they have two big windows to look out of. So slowly getting moved in and things starting to feel more normal so hopefully I can get back to my reading soon.
I plan to get my library card next week.
