Oh, I quite agree! That was part of why I posted the link to the images.
I'm going to try to get a shot of the utility pole at the end of our road tomorrow. Snapped in two places- but not quite all the way through in either. Something to do with eigenvalues and the distance between the pole and the two trees that fell across the lines (and the road) early Friday morning, I'm sure. If I can't find a working camera, I'll at least try for a sketch, but the image is quite impressive. (And that pole has a lot to do with the fact that I am secretly camping out in my office tonight to finish a term paper, rather than sleeping at home with my cuddly husband.
