I've had horrible luck with reliability of SD cards on ereaders. Every time I've tried to use them I had to give up and move to internal memory. Random reboots, data corruption and having to reformat. This has been at least four readers and different brands. I can understand why Kobo dropped it in this model, 4 GB is more than enough for most people and it will cut down on support calls and improve user experience.
