Kobo has a reputation around here, to be sure. How well that reflects to the general populace I couldn't begin to speculate. I will happily state for the record though that I have only one issue with my Aura HD, and it was a fringe case that took me forever to find a means to duplicate.
I will happily recommend Kobo to anyone, particularly if they're interested in library loans outside the US.
The Glo HD looks like a decent device. I think dropping the SD card slot is a mistake; it was always a major differenciator from the Kindle lineup. But otherwise... decent upgrade at the same price point as the current Aura. And they may get some interest from having the same screen as a Voyage at a really reduced price.
