The Nooks seem to be the only ones that had a real issue with the light guide getting damaged, so either of these will work fine. If you prefer the smaller size, the soon to be announced (apparently) Kobo Glo HD might interest you since the screen quality moves up to Carta like the H2O has. Not available until May 1st though.

Generally throwing ANY ereader carelessly around is asking for trouble. The substrate of the screens are not as sturdy as a tablet or phone.
