Kobo Glo or H2O

I'm looking to replace my 4 year old Nook Simple Touch because the rubber has become sticky and it looks really worn out (from daily abuse)

The Glo is considerably cheaper but I am attracted to the water-resistance capabilities of the H2O. Admittedly, I have no bathtubs at home and I only go on beach vacations twice annually. The H2O is also slightly bigger than my Nook, which I don't think I need.

tl;dr - Basically what I want to know is if the built-in light on the H2O is less susceptible to damage as compared to the Glo since it is water-proof?

I'd like an e-reader I can throw around carelessly and for which a silicone case is available. I don't need to protect the screen as much as the sides and back.
