Could be; I originally got the paperback because I had heard it was used as a textbook in universities. I haven't done more than read snippets of the book, and much of that was over my head.

The size and weight alone of the paperback are themselves disincentives to reading the book, hence my recent purchase of the e-book. It does seem a very divisive title, based on the online reviews.
