@Terisa de morgan - some time back I had problems with the default font. I can't recall details, but at the time I didn't perceive it as a calibre issue.

I changed to Verdana 8pt with -11 row height, it worked and gave me a similar number of rows in the same window size. Pretty sure it was post 2.0 release; I have a vague notion that I may have futzed with the Windows Display Settings to resolve an issue in <not calibre>.

Since reinstalling Windows (new SSD) MS Shell Dlg appears to be OK; however, given it wasn't broken I retained Verdana. I get the same 41 rows in 2.23 as in all previous 2.x releases.

I wonder if you've stumbled on the same issue as me, try these settings
