Especially the latter; Hamilton would be proud of that one and the sequels. Modern Space Opera with humor, style, and good science.

I've read Butcher. Competent.
Hardly Hugo Worthy compared to the Andersons, Vinges or Nivens of the past.
Preferred the show, though.
Different strokes for different folks. I like Butcher a lot. He's a bit like Jerry Pournelle during the 80's in that he writes books that are hugely popular (multiple books on the NYT best seller list) yet don't win the awards.
