The Hugos have been all about internal politics for years. It's nothing particularly new. SF&F has been somewhat cliquish for quite a few years. I went to Worldcon way back in 1986 when it was in Atlanta (dang, has it really been that long?) It was a really interesting experience, but more to the point, people talked about how political it was back then. I'm thinking that I can already guess which novel is going to win, not because I've read them all and can say which is best, but based on the subjects of each and which is the most politically correct.
