I just tested before posting
cleared a page count
Ran count pages. 'Slider' rose from the tooltray.
(Yes button has blue outline)
Alt-Y (slider slips away), page count now there

Mostly Vanilla W7 and Calibre (minimal Kybd shortcuts changed)
