The OP asked for a CONFIGURABLE OPTION, if you wouldn't want to use it then you wouldn't configure it - ask for a red letter warning message in the config panel you deem it necessary.

I run it one book at a time - via Alt/C! When it finishes I am FORCED, repeat I am FORCED, to use the mouse on a auxiliary monitor to click OK on a PI that I have used tens of thousands of times without a single error. I am willing to take the risk on DB WRITE conflicts - same with Modify epub file conflicts.

And why should Count Pages & Modify need confirms when Polish, Convert etc don't ?

For me, that slider notify is the real issue - it should be keyboard operable
