Bohlen, R. Sidley: Dave Dawson Over Berlin (Conclusion). v. 1. 1 Apr 2015
This is the sixth, and final installment of the (missing) 16th volume of R. Sidney
Bowen's Dave Dawson series. R. Sidley Bohlen (yours truly) decided to
continue the series. Dave and Freddy Farmer continue their death-defying
exploits, and sometimes death comes close to getting the upper hand.
The fifth installment had Dave and Freddy shanghaied on an experimental subterranean vehicle by a Nazi squad carrying out a raid on Churchill's HQ. The saga concludes with
Dave and Freddy participating in a mission that could end the war by bombing Hitler's Fuehrerbunker.
I had posted the first five installments here over the past several years or so.
This makes a total of the equivalent of 160 or so print pages.
I'm using the periodical installment method of writing,
one at a time. Dickens was notorious for this, and even
Stephen King tried it once.
The Dave Dawson series of juvenile military fiction was very successful
during WWII. After the war, there were no more written. There were 15
books published in the series, and a sixteen, "Dave Dawson Over Berlin,"
was announced but never published, and probably never written.
The original Dave Dawson series, by R. Sidney Bowen, is out of copyright,
and several of the books are available on Gutenberg in various e-book
formats.
I am the author and copyright holder of this work.
I have released it as free and freely distributable for non-commercial use.
You may download, copy, redistribute, and re-upload it as you see fit,
as long as you do not sell it or make a profit from it. Commercial use
requires making arrangements with the author.
And, oh yes, comments are always welcome. It seems that there are few
new original works posted here, mostly classics that are out of copyright.
Please encourage aspiring authors.
